LIGEIA haben sich nach 6 Jahren aufgelöst.Anfang des Jahres scheiterte bereits die Zusammenarbeit mit ihrem Label Ferret und nun gab die Band ihren Split bekannt.Ein offizielles Statement gab es bislang aber noch nicht.

“After returning from our tour with Slapshot last December, 2009 started out really good for us. We where able to play lots of great shows all over Europe with bands like the Cro-mags, Death by Stereo, For the Glory, Death Before Dishonor and many more. The last couple of weeks it even got better. We were asked to join one of Europe’s best hardcore labels.
We are very proud to announce, that we have signed a new record deal with GSR MUSIC.
We're honoured to be part of their roster and we are looking forward to record our second full length this summer. Stay tuned for more!”

NEWS : STRIKE ANYWHERE - Unterschreiben bei BRIDGE 9 RECORDS

BRIDGE NINE RECORDS WELCOMES STRIKE ANYWHERE TO THE FAMILY
One of the most influential melodic hardcore bands of our time, Strike Anywhere, has found a new home at Bridge Nine Records, as announced today by the label. Bridge Nine owner Chris Wrenn said, “We're really excited about working with such an established and hard working band as Strike Anywhere. I've wanted to work with these guys for a long time, I have been a fan since their first EP and look forward to helping them continue to spread their music and message."

Strike Anywhere vocalist Thomas Barnett continued to say, “Bridge Nine has a cool combination of hardcore roots and culture, a love for the life and message. We felt immediately connected to it and understood upon talking with Chris and Karl. They get what we've been doing for the past nearly ten years, and seek to collaborate with us from a place of honesty: old roots, new friendship. The Bridge Nine commitment to the original platforms of hardcore and punk culture while trying to push it forward globally with creative ideas and unity feels like a perfect fit for us. We feel it's important to note that we have nothing but love and good feelings for Fat Wreck Chords. Our four years with that label were great times and a singular experience, so we go forward with their blessing and good will. For us, we just wanted to try something different and give this record a new home, new vision.”

Formed in 1999 in Richmond, VA, Strike Anywhere has been a staple in the underground music scene since their inception. After their debut EP, Chorus of One, was released, Strike Anywhere teamed up with Jade Tree which issued Change Is a Sound in August 2001. The release of Exit English followed in 2003, and the rarities collection To Live in Discontent in January 2005. Strike Anywhere joined up with Fat Wreck Chords for their next full-length, the critically acclaimed Dead FM, released in June 2006 which saw the band touring the world numerous times over in support of the record. Strike Anywhere’s momentum at this point in their career is just as strong as ever.

Strike Anywhere will be in the studio beginning next week with renowned producer Brian McTernan and their Bridge Nine debut, Iron Front, is poised to be one of the label’s best releases of 2009. Thomas said of their new material, “there will be more of an expansion into both the melodic and heavier fast punk that are the foundations of our sound. Songs both global and personal, addressing topics such as borders, immigration, human rights, war, and the work left to be done in a Post-Bush America that still reveres corporate power and international empire. We have a few songs that deal further with issues of the earth, civilization and consciousness, punk songs about the apocalypse, and more events close to home inspiring a song about the limits of safety for the world outside of the gated suburbs, gun culture sickness, and police brutality. There is a song about grief and memory, art and immortality. We also have the happiest, party-while-you-protest song we have ever written. The sound of the record may be a bit heavier and more noisy, a part of our darker, less optimistic side than say the folk influences and street punk jangle of Dead FM. We have mad love for that record though, it's just time for the Iron Front and a return to roots and physicality.”

Following their studio time, Strike Anywhere will head out across the US and Canada with Propagandhi throughout June, and the band will announce a special Fall tour in the coming months. Thomas said, “Touring new places is always the goal! Over the last three years, we made new friends and comrades in South America, Ireland, Finland, Latvia, Belarus, and Moscow. With all that touring we've also been experiencing one of the more wildly creative periods in our band's lifespan, and have been writing non stop across four different cities, two time zones, fifteen Dead FM tours, a shit load of diverse and raging material. This record may be just the tip of that iceberg.” Expect Strike Anywhere’s upcoming Bridge Nine full-length to hit stores in September of 2009 and get ready to see the band all over the globe within the next year.

NEWS : HAVE HEART - lösen sich auf !!!

HAVE HEART gaben folgende Meldung bekannt:

"Once the Fall rolls around, we can't really do this band the way we would prefer to anymore. Knowing this deadline of ours and having a whole world tour already booked, we'd like to take advantage of the chance to say goodbye to all the people we have met around the world over the years.

So, please come check us out in the remaining months on our little trip around the globe. So far Asia has been a wonderful experience and we're very happy to have had the chance to meet so many kind people and look forward to the rest of Asia.

We will be playing our last show on this year's National Edge Day on October 17th 2009 with a bunch of our friends bands and a sweet guest. It will be somewhere T accessible in the Boston area. It will also be a benefit for a women's shelter in New Bedford, MA, run by my kind mother.

It's been a nice 7 years and we'd like to thank all the unique hardcore kids and bands we have encountered. And in the words of DFJ, thanks to all the shit talkers for all the material to get off on. But, really....we have met so many wonderful people who we'll just never forget.

It's been so great. Take care and hope to see you over the next couple months.

NEWS : ANOTHER BREATH - Neuer Song / Neue Platte kommt über ASSAULT RECORDS

Endlich malwieder ein paar Neuigkeiten aus dem Hause ANOTHER BREATH:
Just posted Belly of a Whale last night and you've listened to it over 1000 times.... that's awesome. The rest of God Complex is better than that song in my opinion so if you like that you're going to love the rest of the record.
I also just posted up the 4 days we're doing with Victims, Trap Them, and Black Breath. If you can make it to any of those shows, be sure to do it, they will definately be rowdy.
We're doing the European release of God Complex with Jan at Assault Records. He is incredibly excited to be working with us again and we love him personally and love that he has a label as awesome as Assault. Still no new news on the US label situation. We've had alot of interest but we're really looking for a package that fits the time, effort, and bickering that has gone into this record. Something is sure to come along... it always does.

Nach SEED OF PAIN zeigen uns nun auch FALL APART,dass auch die Schweiz in Sachen Hardcore ordentlich was zu bieten hat.Die Jungs aus Schaffhausen bemühen sich nicht gerade darum neue Trends zu setzen,sondern gehen einen ganzen Schritt zurück.Sie besonnen sich vielmehr auf die Anfänge des Hardcores und setzen in ihrem Songwriting auf Eingängigkeit,punchige Melodien und inteligente Texte.Mehr benötigt eine gute Hardcore Platte im Prinzip auch nicht.Auf ihrer selbstbetitelten Platte gibts einen gelungenen Mix aus New-School und Old-School Hardcore,der mit seiner ganz eigenen Note verfeinert wurde.Die 4 Songs versprühen eine hohe Energie,gehen gut ins Ohr und erinnern mich vom Sound her an Bands wie Betrayed,Final Fight oder The First Step.Wer also auf soliden und eingängigen Hardcore steht ist hier genau richtig.Die Songs machen Lust auf mehr und sind genau das Richtige für den bevorstehenden Sommer.

Was benötigt man für ein gutes Hardcore Album ?
Anleitung:
1. Man nimmt sich erfahrene Musiker (in diesem Falle von Trainwreck,Perth Express,THE F.A. und THE 244GL)
2. Man gibt ihnen Instrumente in die Hand
3. Man lässt sie Songs Schreiben
4. Man lässt sie in einem Studio eine CD aufnehmen
5. Fertig !

GLASSES haben all diese Punkte verinnerlicht und haben nun ein Album im Gepäck,welches man wohl als eines der besten deutschen Hardcore Alben der letzten Jahre bezeichnen kann!Was man hier auf einer Spieldauer von 21 Minuten zu hören bekommt,kommt einem Schlag ins Gesicht gleich.Wut,Aggression und brutal rockender Hardcore-Punk,bilden hier den Grundstoff für einen dunklen,ätzenden und vernichtenden Cocktail,der sich in einem festsetzt und den man nicht so schnell vergessen wird.Die 7 Songs haben einen großartigen Drive und man bekommt einfach nicht genug davon.Wuchtige Gitarrenriffs treffen hier auf eine treibende Wand von Drumattacken,die eine düstere Stimmung verbreiten,wie man sie von RITUAL oder BLACKLISTED gewohnt ist.Sängerin Sam tut dann noch ihr Übriges und setzt mit ihrem wütenden Shouts dem ganzen noch die Krone auf.Es wird hier von Anfang bis Ende ein sehr hohes Tempo gefahren,was den Songs aber auch gut steht,weil man auch textlich genügend Rotz zum Ausdruck bringen möchte.Für mich sind GLASSES eine der aufstrebensten Bands im nationalen Hardcore Zirkus und ich bin mir sicher,dass sie auch auf internationaler Ebene einen bleibenden Eindruck hinterlassen werden.Eine Band die mann nur lieben kann!

For those who care here’s a short update what’s up with us. We recently recorded some songs by ourselves, as preproduction for our upcoming lp. We will upload one or two of them soon. We’re not sure yet who is going to release it, if anyone is interested, get in touch with us. We're gonna record at “Tonmeisterei Oldenburg” in June, right before we go on tour with Miles Away and Blkout. There are still some open dates, get in touch with Georg if you’re interested in doing a show.

NEWS : LIFERUINER - 2 Mann weniger

LIFERUINER müssen den Verlust von Sänger und Gitarrist bekanntgeben.Hier das Statement der Band:

"Let me start off by thanking everyone who has come out to any of the shows on this tour and given us their support, picked up a t-shirt, let us sleep on their floor or bought us some food. The first half of the tour was titled 'High Fives And Stage Dives' with Suffokate and The World We Knew, both great bands and amazing guys. The shows were awesome, and we had a lot of fun, big thanks to both of those bands for the support and being so awesome towards us.

Now for the bad news... while we were in California we lost our vocalist and guitar player. Aj and Marc had to go home because of some personal reasons. No they did not rape a little girl, no they did not break edge or wreck a venue or any of the other rumors you have heard about previous line-ups or versions of Liferuiner. I'm sad to say but Aj and Marc will no longer be part of this band. There was no falling out between members or anything like that so before you jump to conclusions please take all of that into consideration. Now with that being said the band was faced with an important decision, to either go home or continue the “Shits Goin Down Tour” with TWWK. As a band we decided it would be best to continue the tour. We scrambled around for a new vocalist for a few days before we asked our good friend and at the time merch guy Kyle to fill in until we got back to New York or found a permanent vocalist and guitar player.

So, to some of those who are reading this you may be worried about what to expect from the rest of the tour as well as the future plans for Liferuiner. Kyle is doing a great job filling in, and although he is not Aj, Aaron or even Johnny he is doing his best to bring you what you expect every night. Please be patient and stick with us we have been busy writing new music and have plans to get in the studio once were home. Hopefully well have our new EP tentatively titled 'The Most Hated' out to you by Halloween of this year. Some of you may have seen or heard the new songs already, others who haven't but would like to we have a few live versions recorded floating around that at some point will make their way onto youtube.

LIVE REVIEW : Shook Ones,Red Tape Parade,Break Through,We Once Loved,Sink Or Swim / 02.05.09 AJZ Bielefeld

Die Institution AJZ Bielefeld öffnete malwieder ihre Tore und lud zum Hardcore Abend mit den SHOOK ONES, RED TAPE PARADE, WE ONCE LOVED , BREAK THROUGH und SINK OR SWIM ein.Gute 100 Leute,die den 1. Mai überstanden hatten, kamen und freuten sich auf einen gemütlichen Abend mit den Bands.


Den Anfang machten diesmal "SINK OR SWIM" aus Duisburg,die ich bislang nur von myspace kannte.Von daher war ich sehr gespannt,ob die Jungs und Mädels mit ihrer New-School SxE-Hardcore Variante auch Live überzeugen konnten.Den meisten Zuschauern sagte diese Band wohl auch eher weniger und so versammelten sich nur eine Hand voll Leute vor der Bühne um der Band zu lauschen.Sängerin Larissa konnte mit ihrem kraftvollen Shouts überzeugen, war aber auch leider die Einzige die die Aufmerksamkeit auf sich zog und etwas Bewegung in die Performance der Band brachte.Die anderen wirkten eher steif und lustlos.Zudem riss dem Gitarristen ungefähr 3 mal der Gitarrengurt und musste zeitweise aussetzen,was den Sound der Band aber nicht groß schmälerte,da dieser im Allgemeinen eher schlicht gehalten war.Nach ca. 6 Songs war dann auch schon Schluss und man machte Platz für die Zweite Band des Abends.
Diesen Part übernahmen "WE ONCE LOVED" aus Potsdam,die schon etwas mehr Leute vor die Bühne zogen und mit ihrem Mix aus melodischem Hardcore und Punk auch erstmals etwas Bewegung ins Publikum brachten und den Leuten ordentlich einheizten.Die Jungs lieferten eine gute Show ab und wirkten sehr motiviert und eingespielt. Weiter gings mit den Jungs von "BREAK THROUGH" aus dem Münsterland,die an diesem Abend ihre Abschiedsshow spielten und auch einige Fans mitbrachten,die zu ihrem Oldschool-Hardcore den Pogo eröffneten!War musikalisch zwar nicht ganz so meine Kragenweite,staß beim Publikum aber durchaus auf Gegenliebe.Man Verabschiedete sich standesgemäß von den Fans und gab an diesem Abend noch mal richtig Gaß.Draußen am Merch-Stand gabs dann auch noch alles zum Sonderpreis und sogar Blowjobs wurden gegen eine kleine Gebühr angeboten.Diese Band kümmert sich noch richtig um ihre Fans ,-) . Die Münchner "THE RED TAPE PARADE" führten das Programm fort und boten eine sehr gelungene Show,die trotz zwischenzeitlicher Probleme mit der Backline sehr überzeugend wirkte.Die Überbrückungszeit nutzte Sänger Wauz geschickt um Geschichten aus seiner "spannenden" Jugend zu erzählen und nun weiß auch jeder wie er seine ersten beiden Platten gegen ein Fucking Faces - Shirt eingetauscht hatte.Musikalisch trafen die Jungs genau meinen Geschmack und der Gesang erinnerte mich stelleweise sehr stark an Nathan Grey (ex-Boysetsfire) der ja auch auf ihrer Platte mitwirkte.Sehr sympatische Truppe die ich mir auf jeden Fall nochmal ansehen werde. Dann kamen endlich die "SHOOK ONES" auf die alle sehnsüchtig gewartet hatten.Die Jungs fingen direkt an und versprühten eine erfrischende Energie die alle nochmal wachrüttelte.Die Power der Band sprang direkt aufs Publikum über und es gab kein halten mehr.Ihr melodischer Hardcore wurde von den Fans gefeiert und die Jungs freuten sich sehr dass ihre Darbietung so angenomen wurde,weil man am Tag zuvor in Rosswein, wohl eher auf eine träge Zuhörerschaft traf,wo die Stimmung wohl nicht so mitreißend war,wie an diesem Abend.Ein toller Abschluss für ein tolles Konzert.

NEWS : PATSY O'HARA - Neue Platte,Neues Label,etc...

Gestern posteten die Bielefelder Hardcore Durchstarter folgende Meldung:

Hoooowdy!

Lange Zeit gab’s kein Update, aber jetzt sind wir den dunklen und kalten Katakomben des AJOs entstiegen. Was geht ab?

1. Neue Platte & Aufnahmen:

Während Hassan im sonnigen Barcelona weilte, um Postkarten zu malen, hat der Rest von uns unser erstes Album geschrieben. Zu hören gibt’s acht neue Songs, und wir haben uns entschlossen , „This untaught kid“ vom Demo noch mal aufzunehmen. Alles was wir bis jetzt sagen können ist, dass die neuen Sachen etwas anders klingen werden als „Pariahs“. Man darf gespannt sein… Die Aufnahmen beginnen nächstes Wochenende und Rob Völkert sitzt wieder hinter den Reglern. Anfang Juni sollte alles fertig sein und wir hoffen auf ein Release im Juli oder August.

2. Labels:

Wo wir grade von einem Release sprechen… Lasst uns das Bömbchen platzen lassen: PER KORO RECORDS (www.perkororecords.com ) & PHOBIACT RECORDS (www.phobiactrecords.de) werden die Platte in Kollaboration raushauen! Wir sind unfassbar glücklich mit einem „Szeneveteranen“ wie Markus von PER KORO REC. zusammenarbeiten zu dürfen, der bereits Platten von so großartigen Bands wie HAMMERHEAD, NARZISS oder ENFOLD veröffentlicht hat. Ebenso freuen wir uns total darauf mit Tim von PHOBIACT REC. zu arbeiten. Tim ist ne super Type und war der Erste der uns gefragt, ob er unsere Platte rausbringen kann. Deshalb war es für uns nur logisch ihn mit ins Boot zu holen.

Schaut unbedingt mal auf seiner Seite vorbei und checkt die anderen Bands!!!

3. Konzerte:

Leider sind wir gezwungen die heutige Show in Köln und die Show in Ibbenbüren mit BRUTAL KNIGHTS auf Grund von Krankheit abzusagen! Sorry, aber ging nicht anders!

Wie schon einmal geschrieben, können wir bis Juli nur sporadisch spielen, da Hassan mitten im Diplom-Stress steckt! Vom 28.August bis 13. September wird endlich wieder durch Europa getourt! Wer Bock hat auf ne Show mit fünf abgebrannten Wochenend-Punks, der möge sich doch bitte melden!

CD REVIEW : 50 LIONS - "selftitled"

Bands wie "Parkway Drive" oder "I Killed The Prom Queen" haben in den letzten Jahren bereits gezeigt,dass Australien mehr zu bieten hat,als nur schöne Landschaften und außergewöhnliche Tierarten.Hier gibts nämlich auch eine sehr aufstrebende Metal- und Hardcore-Szene,die einiges zu bieten hat.Zu dieser gehören auch die Jungs von 50 LIONS, die in kürzester Zeit mehrere Platten releasen konnten und durch zahlreiche Touren (u.a. mit Comeback Kid, Blacklisted, Terror, Down to Nothing,etc...) durch die ganze Welt,sich eine große Fanbase aufbauen konnten.Dies ist wohl auf den Ehrgeiz und die harte Arbeit der Jungs zurückzuführen,die sie in 50 LIONS stecken.Mit ihrer selbsbetitelten 7" Platte starten die 5 nochmal durch und liefern uns 2 neue und 2 alte Songs,von der lang ausverkauften Demo "Nowhere To Run".Die Songs gehen gut ins Ohr und haben ordentlich Drive und erinnern stark an den Hardcore der New Yorker Art.Wer auf Bands wie No Warning,Terror oder Blacklisted steht wird an dieser Band auf keinen Fall vorbeikommen.Live konnte man die Jungs auch vor kurzem erst in Deutschland sehen und wenn es so weitergeht kommen sie bestimmt bald wieder um weitere Jünger zu rekrutieren.

NEWS : AWAKEN DEMONS - unterschreiben bei trustkill Records

Hier das offizielle Statement zum Signing bei Trustkill Records :

Trustkill is proud to announce a worldwide deal with AWAKEN DEMONS from Italy! Hailing from beautiful Cesena, Italy, they just recorded their brand new album 'THE MIRROR', due out this coming summer on Trustkill. The album is 10 songs of pure aggression, and features guest vocals from Vincent Bennet (The Acacia Strain) and Karl Buechner (Earth Crisis).

In 2007 they released their debut album "From Heaven To Hell" through Seventh Dagger and subsequently invaded the US with their friends xAFBx and Rhinoceros. They have spent the better part of 2008 writing their next album and hitting the stage with First Blood, Full Blown Chaos, Agnostic Front, Evergreen Terrace, Sworn Enemy, Ringworm, A Day To Remember, and more.

Speaking on the signing, bassist Nicola Lelli said, "We've always been huge Trustkill fans, since the late 90s. Trustkill was a dream for us and when Josh contacted us, we couldn't believe it. Being the first Italian band on the roster is definitely a huge step for us. Thanks a lot to Josh and the Trustkill crew, we are honored be part of this family."

In 2009 they have lined up shows with Madball and will play the Open Air Festival, as well as shows in Germany, Belgium, and Holland. More shows to be announced soon.

NEWS : UNEARTH sagen "HELL ON EARTH TOUR" ab.

UNEARTH gaben bekannt,dass sie auf der diesjährigen "HELL ON EARTH TOUR" nicht teilnehmen werden.Vorerst waren sie als Headliner geplant.Das Line-Up wird also neu gemischt und man darf gespannt sein ob die Veranstaltern noch ein As im Ärmel haben.

NEWS : TRAINWRECK - neue Songs und US-Tour

Trainwreck haben die Aufnahmen zu ihrem neuen 12 Track-Album " Of concrete canyons and inner Wastelands" abgeschlossen und 2 der Songs online gestellt.

Für Juni ist dann auch noch eine Nord-Amerika Tour angedacht.Die genauen Dates stehen zwar noch nicht fest,werden aber bald bekanntgegeben.
