Und schon wieder haben wir diese Woche eine Band-Auflösung zu verkünden.Diesmal hat es die Jungs von COME CLOSER getroffen.Hier das Statement der Band:
dear friends,
as you might have heard, after 8 years of treating our health and manners in the worst way, 3 records, a couple of tours and a total of 170 played shows we decided to come to an end. we will play some more confirmed shows and one final show at one of our favourite places as a band and as visitors as well: the TONNE in wangen. no better place than this for a cause like this and where we always felt like home.
for all of you who want to know, there is no fighting or bad blood between us. In fact it is the opposite. we want to end this as what we are: the best of friends. we just felt that we are at a point with this band where we reached anything we wanted and more. we have put out a couple of records, played every shitty outhouse we were asked for, made a lot of good friends and met even more dumbheads. we learned a lot about ourselves, the hardcore circus and the limits of a diy-based ethic we tried to achieve.
every band splits up sooner or later, except the rolling stones and the scorpions. and folks, we all know, this is a very sad perspective. at this point, after all these years, we went through a lot and set new priorites for our lifes. the motivation to push this band further and further was lost along the way, as well as the connection between us and this scene with all it's hypes, trends and behavioral and fashionable rules. is this sounding bitter? no fucking way. understood as a process this band gave us the opportunity of countless experiences and the possibility to learn which is priceless. moreover it gave us the gift of enjoying ourselves in the best imaginable way, we partied hard and laughed even harder. so, in the end, we want this band to be remembered as what it means to the five of us and not as a shadow of itself. Perfect time to let it go.
we want to thank all of you who made this all possible and took such good care of us from the bottom of our hearts. your support and effort really means the fucking world to us.
the date of our final show will be announced later this year. be sure that we have some special stuff prepared. we would appreciate it so much to celebrate this last time on stage with all our friends, tons of fun and lots of booze.
